I CAME HERE TO WEEP
Bienvenides. Grieving is a survival tool.

This audio was born out of fear for the future. You afraid? Us too. Our response was to offer an invitation to weep. Turns out a good long cry is a release valve for rage, grief, helplessness. Maybe you can use that today.

I came here to weep is part of a public art project called Exorcism = Liberation. It offers a different kind of campaign than the election we are in the middle of. It is a counter action. A counter proposal. An intervention. We want to connect, challenge, spark conversation, contemplate, move and provoke change.

Empathy is a muscle that needs to be flexed. Listen and get stronger with us. We recommend using headphones. It sounds better.

LEARN + ACT

For each audio in this project, we offer one entry point to learn and act. Our focus is Puerto Rico. With I came here to weep, we are sharing resources and information on how colonization and corruption exacerbates climate disaster. One important way climate change affects the archipelago is power outages.
